 The Balkan Jumping Championship Comes to Ippos Club for the First Time!

Another major equestrian event is coming to Ippos Club for the first time!

Following the success of the Longines EEF Series CSIO3-W 2026* held in June, the Hellenic Equestrian Federation, together with the Macedonia Equestrian Centre and Ippos Club, are jointly organizing the Balkan Jumping Championship, taking place from September 10 to 13.

The Balkan Championship returns to Greece after three years. In 2023, the Markopoulo Olympic Equestrian Centre hosted the Balkan Championships in both Jumping and Dressage. This year marks the third time Thessaloniki has hosted a Balkan Championship, following the events held in 1993 and 2002. The 2026 Championship is being held under the auspices of the Region of Central Macedonia.

This year, athletes from 9 Balkan countries are expected to participate, including Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Cyprus, Croatia, Romania, Türkiye, Serbia, Slovenia and Greece, with approximately 200 riders and horses taking part.

Riders and their horses will compete for individual and team gold medals in the Children, Juniors, Young Riders, Seniors and Ladies categories, following four rounds of competition. For the first time, a Pony category competition will also be held alongside the Championship.

The first veterinary inspection of the horses will take place on Wednesday, September 9, while on Thursday, September 10, following the completion of the first day’s competitions, the Opening Ceremony of the Championship will be held, featuring the parade of teams.

Greece will participate with full teams in all categories. Competitions will begin daily, including during the weekend, at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until after 6:00 p.m.

Admission is free to the public at Ippos Club.
