20th Mediterranean Games
10th place for Touloupis!
The Mediterranean Equestrian Games in Taranto, Italy, concluded last night with the final of the individual competition.
Spain’s Carlos Bosch Cebrian, riding Jolie van der Berghoeve, won the gold medal following a jump-off against two other riders: Turkey’s Hasan Senturk, riding Nespresso, who took silver, and Morocco’s El Ghali Bouka, riding IKE 1348, who claimed the bronze medal.
The only Greek rider to compete in the final of the individual competition, including the final two rounds, was Angelos Touloupis with Del Rey of the Lowlands. He delivered a very strong performance, finishing in 10th place with a total of 8 penalty points over the four rounds (0–4–0–4).
In the team competition, France won the gold medal, with Spain taking silver and Morocco bronze.
Unfortunately, Greece, represented by its four riders—Angelos Touloupis, Dimitris Natsis with Cresco, Aikaterini Laskaridou with Hilada, and Ilias Balioussis with Casper D’Argouges—did not manage to complete the competition with a final team ranking.
