CSI1* & BEC at Markopoulo !

After the great success of the Athens Equestrian Festival 2023 in June, the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo will host two more very important equestrian international events.

It is the Athens CSI1* from Thursday, August 31 to Sunday, September 3 and the Balkan Championships 2023 in the two Olympic disciplines, Show Jumping and Dressage from Thursday, September 7 to Sunday, September 10.

This four-day period, August 31 to September 3, Markopoulo Centre will host the Athens CSI1*/CSICh B/CSIYH - EEF Evolution League, a new pioneering institution of the European Equestrian Federation, which includes individual and mixed team events that will allow better preparation of athletes and horses for the Balkan Championship, which follows next week.

It will be attended by 150 athletes with 170 horses from 8 countries, namely Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, Cyprus, France, Serbia and Hungary,

The Balkan Championship, after two years, returns to Greece and will be held for the fourth time at the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo. The Balkan Jumping Championship will take place at the Olympic grass arena from September 7 to 10, while the Balkan Dressage Championship will take place on the three days of September 8-10 at the Olympic sand arena. The Balkan countries of Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Cyprus and of course Greece are expected to participate with around 200 riders and horses.

Admission is free to the public in both events, The vet check of the Athens CSI1* is scheduled for Thursday, August 31 at 11.00, while the first competition will foloww on Thursday at 14.30.

The schedule of the CSI1* starts daily and at the weekend at 9.00 and ends after 17.00. You can watch the results of the Athens CSI1* live at https://live.hef.gr/
