The 3rd Round of the Jumping Championship in Markopoulo!
The top national showjumping competition, the Greek Championship, returns this weekend, April 3rd, 4th, and 5th, to the Olympic Equestrian Center in Markopoulo!
The 3rd round of this year’s Championship will take place in the indoor arena of Markopoulo, featuring, of course, the best Greek riders from all over the country.
The jumping competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. on all three days and includes the following categories: Children, Juniors, Young Riders, Women Riders, Young Horses (6–7 years old), and the main Grand Prix event at a height of 1.40m, which will take place on Sunday, April 5th. Additionally, the competition program includes open classes with heights ranging from 1.05m to 1.30m.
After the first two rounds, the leading athletes in each category are as follows:
- Children Category – Evanthia Kourkoumeli with Helia de la Tour (IOBOP), 19 points
- Juniors Category – Vasiliki Baliouzi with Helsi d’Amaury (IOA), 19 points
- Young Riders Category – Paraskevi Kanellaki with Alvaro Mongrenier (IOKOUB), 20 points
- Women Riders Category – Three riders are tied for 1st place with 13 points: Dimitra Igglesi with Jordan vd Heffink Z (IOA), Argyro Papageorgiou with Harmony (IOA), and Sasa Chatziprimou with Cendrasine (IOBOP)
There are still two more rounds remaining to determine this year’s Champions and the winning Woman Rider. These are scheduled to take place in Thessaloniki and at Ippos Club in early May and late June.
