9 medals for Greece in Belgrade!

The Greek National Dressage Team returns home today from Belgrade with an excellent overall result and nine medals, following its participation in the Balkan Dressage Championship, held from 18 to 20 September.

In the Children’s Category, Greece won three medals — one gold and one silver in the individual competition, and one silver in the team competition.

In the Individual competition, Angeliki Katsouli and Ninniefeh were crowned Balkan Champions, achieving the highest score of 75.2% in yesterday’s final Individual Test.

Venetia Trecha and Tango finished in second place with a score of 72.198%, while Chara Gioukaki and Maximus finished fourth with 71.75%.

In the Team competition, our four young riders — Angeliki Katsouli, Chara Gioukaki, Zoi Chartzi with Doc Doce, and Danae Tziakou with Chivas Macarron Go West — achieved a combined score of 209.201%, winning the silver medal.

Greece also won two silver medals in the Juniors’ Category.

In the Individual competition, Danae Giannopoulou and Barcelona were crowned Balkan Vice-Champions, finishing second in yesterday’s final Freestyle to Music with a score of 68.96%.

In the Team competition, Greece also won the silver medal, achieving a combined score of 196.192%. The Greek team consisted of Danae Giannopoulou, Giannis Laliotis with Denzo Julianelyst, Korina Meimari with Sola Shlaima, and Danae Papapoulizou with San Francetto.

In the Seniors’ Category, Greece won two medals in the final individual Freestyle to Music competition. Christina Sachinoglou and Marilyn Monroe were crowned Balkan Champions, achieving a score of 67.045%. Maria Eleni Tourkomani and Seine Tosca won the silver medal, with a score of 66.87%.

Finally, in the Young Riders’ Category, Eleni Barmpati and Formentera were crowned Balkan Champions for the second consecutive year, achieving a score of 69.24% in the Freestyle to Music competition.

Maria Tsirigaki and Storm Ranger finished in third place, with a score of 64.10%.
