Nine Medals for Greece in Belgrade!

The Greek National Dressage Team returns from Belgrade today with an impressive haul of nine medals, following its participation in the Balkan Dressage Championship, held from September 18 to 20.

In the Children’s category, Greece won three medals — one gold and one silver in the individual competition, and one silver in the team competition.

In the Individual competition, Angeliki Katsouli with Ninniefeh was crowned Balkan Champion, achieving the highest score of 75.2% in yesterday’s final Individual Test. Venetia Trecha with Tango finished in second place with a score of 72.198%, while Chara Youkaki with Maximus finished fourth with 71.75%.

In the Team competition, our four riders — Angeliki Katsouli, Chara Youkaki, Zoi Hartzi with Doc Doce, and Danae Tziakou with Chivas Macarron Go West — achieved a combined score of 209.201%, winning the silver medal. Croatia took first place, with Bulgaria finishing third.

Greece also won two silver medals in the Juniors category.

In the Individual competition, Danae Giannopoulou with Barcelona was crowned Balkan Vice-Champion, earning a score of 68.96% in yesterday’s final Freestyle to Music test.

In the Team competition, Greece also claimed the silver medal, with a combined score of 196.192%. The team consisted of Danae Giannopoulou, Giannis Laliotis with Denzo Julianelyst, Korina Meimari with Sola Shlaima, and Danae Papapoulizou with San Francetto.

Croatia won the gold medal, while Bulgaria took third place.

In the Senior category, Greece won two medals in the final Freestyle to Music individual competition.

Christina Sachinoglou with Marilyn Monroe was crowned Balkan Champion, achieving a score of 67.045%, while Maria Eleni Tourkomani with Seine Tosca won the silver medal, with a score of 66.87%.

Finally, in the Young Riders category, Eleni Barmpati with Formentera was crowned Balkan Champion for the second consecutive year, achieving a score of 69.24% in the Freestyle to Music competition.

Maria Tsiringaki with Storm Ranger finished in third place, with a score of 64.1%.
